1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StudyFlow AI ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone else who accesses the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StudyFlow AI. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

3. Your Account

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at support@studyflowai.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

We reserve the right to disable any account at our discretion, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

4. Permitted Use

StudyFlow AI is intended for personal, educational, non-commercial use. You agree to use the Service only in ways that are lawful and consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to submit, generate, or distribute content that is harmful, deceptive, harassing, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Use the Service to facilitate academic dishonesty, including submitting AI-generated work as your own in violation of your institution's policies.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service without our express written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any content generated by it.
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.

5. AI-Generated Content

StudyFlow AI uses large language models (including Anthropic's Claude) to generate study materials, quiz questions, flashcards, explanations, and other educational content. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information.
• You should always verify important facts, formulas, and information with authoritative sources and your teachers or professors.
• StudyFlow AI is a study aid — not a substitute for actual instruction, professional tutoring, or your own learning.
• We are not responsible for academic outcomes based on reliance on AI-generated content.

Content you generate using our tools is yours to use for personal study. We do not claim ownership over the output you create.

6. Uploaded Content

You may upload notes, PDFs, images, and other files to the Service for processing. By uploading content, you:

• Represent that you own or have the right to use the content you upload.
• Grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.
• Understand that uploaded content may be sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., Anthropic) for processing as part of the Service.

Do not upload content that contains other people's personally identifiable information, content you do not have the right to share, or content that violates any applicable law.

7. Subscriptions & Billing

StudyFlow AI offers both a free tier and a paid Pro plan. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you agree to the following:

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you select.
• Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• We do not offer automatic refunds for partial billing periods. Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis — contact us at support@studyflowai.com.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

8. Rate Limits & Fair Use

Free and Pro plans have usage limits on certain features (AI messages, quizzes, flashcard sets, etc.) to ensure fair access for all users. We reserve the right to enforce these limits and to modify them at any time. Attempting to circumvent rate limits (e.g., by creating multiple accounts) is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and all its original content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the interface design, logos, and underlying code — are owned by StudyFlow AI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written permission, except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service immediately ceases.
• We may delete your account data in accordance with our data retention practices.
• Active paid subscriptions will not be refunded for the remaining billing period unless required by applicable law.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudyFlow AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, lost profits, or academic outcomes — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.
